Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety: A Blessing and a Curse

“My mind won’t shut down.”

“My body can’t settle itself. I am literally sick with worry.”

“My thoughts are spiraling out of control and are at times so intrusive that I can’t get anything done.”

Anxiety is your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong.

When you learn to listen, to understand the message, and to use skills to tone down the physiological experience of anxiety, you cultivate the space and ability you need to grow.

You can feel better.

Let me help you break debilitating cycles.

Throughout the past 20 years, I have successfully worked with a range of people whose intense anxiety has interrupted their daily lives and even, for some, has contributed to their need to be hospitalized.

With evidence-based practices, we will focus on building an understanding of the roots of your anxiety – of how it has been wired both neurologically and physiologically.

In each session, we build on skills that effectively re-wire your nervous system to respond differently. We explore which patterns have contributed to the anxiety in order to intervene differently in the cycle.

Depression: When Life Feels Like It Smothers You

“I feel like a 1000-pound weight is on my chest.”

“I want to care – but I don’t.”

“I feel completely stuck and don’t have energy to do anything I know would be good for me.”

Often, depression comes hand in hand with anxiety.

Once defeated by your thoughts, you can easily fall into “numb” mode, feeling once removed from life.

(It is a protection stance.)

We’ll work together to develop a plan that will help you connect to what matters to you again (or learn to do so for the first time). I use evidence-based practices designed to target specific goals you begin to set for yourself – at a pace that works for you.

Come home to yourself.

Start building an inner foundation – ultimately redefining your relationship with your core self – making it easier not only to survive – but to thrive – amid life’s inevitable ups and downs.

I feel very confident in my ability to help you make positive changes in your life.
